Profile PCB Holders has no restriction on length of holders as it can be cut to any length. Modular PCB Holder cannot be used for custom length.
Profile PCB Holder has more strength as the support is in single piece where as modular has many pieces.
Modular PCB Holders are suitable for small production lot. Profile PCB Holders needs cutting so there is some minimum quantity requirement.
Modular PCB Holders inventory is less as the pieces / members are common so can used for many different sizes of PCBs.
Profile PCB Holders needs cutting facility at customer end if supplied in 1mt or 2mt length. Modular needs no cutting.
Profile PCB Holders is in single piece, straight one piece so PCB slides smoothly, Modular PCB holders in longer PCB slides little tight and may induce stress on it.

It is common experience that in designing aInstrumentation, automotive industry or home/building automation product suchas PLC, Relays, Timers, Transducers, Transmitters, I/O circuits....or any otherelectrical / electronic product designer feels they should be allowed moreinside space keeping the standards. Design engineers feel space crunch toaccommodate all their circuits and components inside Din Rail Enclosure.

The easysolution is to have standard enclosure height as 108mm instead of 86mm keepingwidth same as Modular Enclosures. More height provides more inside space andoccupies less rail space.

Dear all,

I share my experience to fellow PCB designer that when designing stand alone PCB which needs to be mounted on Din Rail or simply on Panel with the help of standard hardware available in market then they needs to fix their PCB width either 73mm or 108mm. Many times designer makes mistake of designing PCB as per application and then check for hardware to mount it, some times they need to re layout all over again their PCB to use standard Din Rail Mounting OR Panel Mounting hardware available internationally.

Mounting of Profile PCB Holders:

Din Standard Plastic Instrument Cases

This family of Plastic instrument cases is molded in ABS plastic in one piece. These are suitable for Panel Flush mounting Analog and Digital Instruments & few are suitable for Table Top as well as plug in module. Case available with cassette, which provides mounting facilities for inside assembly as well as for front and back components. The cassette for all cases is very versatile frame assembly. The front panel plate and back plate of cassette are of plastic material hence cut out requires for mounting components like Display, Potentiometer, Thumb wheel switch or at back Terminal strip etc. can simply be punched or drilled. The Front Plates are also available with few standard cut outs. Back plate is available in plain type and with in built molded Terminal type with option of solder able terminal connector or direct pcb insertion type connectors. The two plastic front & back plates are joined by either one Metal Base plate and two Metal drilled angels, Which offers mounting facilities for PCBs, Relays, Transformers, etc. or Directly by full length pcb in case of Back plate with pcb insertion type connectors. The entire cassette when slides into the case is secured by means of screws at rear.

Collet knobs are distinguished by their styling elegance, easy handling, long life, perfect fit on the shaft as a result of clamping chuck mounting (collet) and by their comprehensive accessories in different colours. Due to modular construction it has interchangeability and easy assembly of the knob body. Different colour caps, pointers, nut covers and marked dials can be simply plugged on the knob body. Knobs are available in three colours and caps and pointers are in seven colours. With this operating functions are better defined. Hence the large numbers of combination can be made. These are for mounting P. C. card 1/ 16", thick Guide. It has antirotation dowel and fixing screw, available in ABS.
